Mick brings a unique blend of creativity, innovation, and humor to his work with churches. Mick served as a pastor in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for close to 20 years prior to working as a church ministry strategist. For the past two decades, Mick has had experience working in a broad spectrum of settings guiding campaigns of well over $30 million, raising funds for church plants, and coaching churches through various ministry opportunities. He has worked with churches in a variety of traditions, large and small, and has an innate flexibility to thrive in each setting.
Mick graduated from Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, Tennessee, as a National Merit Scholar, and from Vanderbilt University (BA) in three years with a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing. He completed his ministerial training at Brite Divinity School (Texas Christian University) where he was Valedictorian and selected as their outstanding student in each of his last two years. Mick is the author of, WILDERING: Anyone’s Guide to Enjoying the American Wilderness as well as various blogs, articles, and musings.
Mick prefers to be outdoors hiking, fossil hunting, or backpacking. Mick is a Partner with Culture of Ready, a partner with Horizons in the generosity movement. Mick and his wife, Lisa, live in Heath, Texas.
